How To Maintain Your Cutting Board

Your cutting board has come with a food safe pharmaceutical grade mineral oil applied for finish You may notice it weep some oil out over the next few weeks. This is normal. Just wipe it off.
Never put in the dishwasher!
You will need to apply a food safe mineral oil regularly (depending on how often you use it) to properly maintain your cutting board. Never use corn, olive, or vegetable oil as they may become rancid in time. I recommend at least a once a month application. Apply a generous coat to both sides and let set overnight. Wipe off the excess with a rag, and it is ready to use. Pharmaceutical grade mineral oil is available at your local pharmacy or Walmart etc. You can also get a cutting board/butcher block conditioner at Home Depot. It will work great as well
Keep your cutting board clean and dry. Scrub your board after each use with hot soapy water if needed, and dry immediately with a towel. Dry standing up if possible. You will notice that most of the moisture will evaporate off the surface quickly. If it does not, it’s time to apply more finish. Do not leave it soaking in the sink and Never put in the dishwasher!
If the board feels a little rough over time, you can wet sand it with mineral oil and 400-grit wet/dry sandpaper.
